The Active Ingredient
Who is the THC society? What is the THC society?
It is more than a group of producers, promoters, MCs, writers and artists. It is more than a organisation. It is merely a node on a network of organisations united by one goal - positive change.
The THC society is more than just the people who organise Below the Belt. It is the regulars who turn up monthly because without you there is no Below the Belt. It is everybody who helps make things happen from journalists to MCs, from psychedelic trance festival organisers in Glastonbury to Techno DJs in Stoke on Trent, from starving artists to Mayan philosophy experts.
The THC society is about more than music, it is about making a positive change, sharing information and promoting creativity. THC assists various NGOs united by their desire to bring about positive change through positive events and sharing information.
The THC is dedicated to the promotion of artists that you deserve to hear. Positive, conscious Hip-Hop suffers from the amount of media coverage given to artists who glorify negativity compared to the lack of media coverage given to more talented and less compromising artists. However, despite our honest bias for breakbeats, The Highjinks and Capers Society is dedicated to promoting all forms of music that deserves to be heard, as long as it's a form of uncompromised self expression. The THC Society was born out of this passion for good music.
This is not a manifesto or a constitution. This is an inaccurate description of an undescribable group of people. The Highjinks and Capers Society is both bonded and driven by a love for music and a love for each other. As long as we continue to assist each other with that protection, that drive and that passion there really is no stopping us.
